Navigating ADHD Challenges: Overcoming Obstacles in Your Path

Most women with ADHD operate with a fast-moving brain that is difficult to stop. However, since women are more relationship-oriented and tend to follow rules more effectively, they tend to be able to suppress their hyperactivity with an effective and more controlled response to certain situations. This is what I call driving with emergency brakes on.

Sooner or later, this suppression can manifest in the form of anxiety, depression, chronic headaches, and various types of obsessive mannerisms and thinking.  This in turn may become problematic and further hinder women to function as they should, without limiting their potential...

I believe that the key for women with ADHD to fully realize their gifts is to own to their sense of self and skip normality.  It may help to embrace this by choosing a field or career that maximizes our need for fast pace and high energy.  One can work in a single field or have multiple careers for as long as the activities align with one’s vivacity and principles.  One can also make changes within their environment that will fit their personality and needs.

It’s never too late (or too early) to realize that it's time to release the emergency brake and fully live to your true potential.
